J.Bentley Hair Studio & Day Spa is the first in the city to offer the Sauna Pod Infrared Therapy.  The sessions are highly effective for truly changing your mind, body, and soul.  The Cocoon Wellness Pro Sauna Pod can be used as a stand alone service and as an alternative to massage for those who need relaxation but are uncomfortable with traditional massage services.  Our private room sauna sanctuary is equipped with all the right elements to help you relax.  If you have problems unwinding you can always catch up on your favorite shows all while laying in this unique heated chamber with our featured iPad preset channels or you can always bring your own.  This isn't your Father's Sauna where you are suffocating in a overly heated box with fire coals forcing hot stream into the air.  The entire time you are in the Sauna Pod your head is outside the chamber with cool himalyan salt air blowing to keep you cool and comfortable.

Sweating is good for the SOUL! It's the body's natural way of healing and staying healthy.  Cocoon Infrared Sauna Pod is a great detoxification as it heats up the body directly, causing a rise in core temperature, which results in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where toxins reside. Research has always stated that sweating is good for you.  As long as you stay hydrated the safer it is to sweat.  Far infrared saunas are believed to be more effective in moving toxins through the skin than traditional wood saunas because 80%-85% of the sweat is water with the non-water portion being cholestrol, fat-soluble toxins, toxic heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia and uric acid

Relax and reduce stress in the comfort of our sauna cocoon pod.  Infrared therapy soothes your mind by enveloping your body in relaxing warmth.  American Institute of Stress estimates that 75 to 90% of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress-related problems.  The long-term effects of stress can cause increased blood pressure, weight gain, and weakening of the immune system.  Studies have shown that the more stressed you are, the more cortisol your body produces.  Cortisol is a "fight or flight" hormone made in the adrenal glands that raises heart rate and blood pressure and leads to the deposit of excess calories in the midsection.  Infrared sauna therapy helps the body maintain healthy levels of cortisol.

The optional Jade Stone mattress will take your sauna session to the next level. Jade stones are proven to be the best conductor for far infrared heat, which means it allows the infrared rays from your sauna session stay consistent and distribute evenly.  Why is this important?  Well, research has shown that jade stones can relieve back pain, sciatica, deep muscle tissue pain, arthitis and more.

Take a load off.  An Infrared sauna weight loss session can burn up to 600 calories.  In fact anytime you use the sauna pod for any reason you are burning calories.  During a sauna weight loss session, core temperatures increase.  The body has to work hard to cool itself, causing a healthy sweat.  Using an infrared sauna increases heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, burning more calories, leading to more weight loss.

A recent Japanese study published in the journal, Internal Medicine, showed that chronic pain patients experienced a significant reduction in pain levels (nearly 70%) after the first session of infrared sauna therapy.  Pain levels also remained low for an extended period of time.
